Residents at Golden Sands had a brighter Christmas and are having a happier New Year thanks to the generosity of the folks at the Lac La Biche branch of Fortis Alberta. The local Fortis team donated – and put up – a brand new set of Christmas lights in December, and recently, donated a bowling ramp set to the community.

First Evening of Bowling

The bowling set got its first workout on the evening of Friday, January 29, when employee care partner Mary Jane Carmichael came in on her own time to initiate the fun.

Lots of Laughs

“Mary Jane facilitated the start-up and was the pinsetter,” says recreation coordinator, Theresa Cardinal. “After a while residents took over pin-setting and guided their own play, finishing three games in total. There were many laughs and lots of giggling as residents cheered each other on.”
